What do industrial mechanics do?
During an apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic (m/f/d), you will learn how to manufacture, set up or convert components and assemblies for machines and production systems. You will also monitor and optimise production processes and take on repair and maintenance tasks.
Industrial mechanics plan their work processes using technical documents, manufacture mechanical components, programme CNC-controlled machines and robots, assemble components into tools and devices or produce moulded surfaces using fine machining processes. Industrial mechanics also check and monitor the function of machines and tools and repair them.
Industrial mechanics work in companies in the manufacturing industry. The career opportunities are very good. (e.g. master craftsman, technician, engineer)
These tasks await you with us:
You will familiarise yourself with our machinery from A to Z. You will learn how to read and produce technical drawings and how to manufacture and assemble components for production machines yourself. Metal or plastic, saw or welding machine? You will know which materials and tools you need and how to use them. You can look forward to a varied job in a friendly working environment. The duration of your apprenticeship is 3.5 years.
You have the following qualifications:
You should be interested in technology and mathematically gifted and enjoy working accurately "down to a hundredth of a millimetre". Good spatial awareness and manual dexterity are helpful. We expect you to have at least a satisfactory secondary school leaving certificate and in any case a great deal of commitment.
